Founded in 2004 after the tragic deaths of Jacquelynn (Jackie) Young, age 16, and Jimmy Young, her dad, in a boating accident. The scholarship is sponsored by Sue Young, Jackie’s mother, and Kevin Young, Jackie’s younger brother.
The scholarship fund is associated with Friends of Columbus Park
(FoCP EIN# 10-0008069), a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization serving the local community based in New York City’s Chinatown.
The Jacquelynn Young Inspiration Scholarship is in honor of a spirited, inspiring, beloved teenager. Graduating high school seniors from select local New York City high schools are awarded one time grants to help jumpstart post high school education.
